RIde for the Future - Bike for peace

Rock Urbike is a solidarity weekend in Fribourg! As part of the Ride for the Future - Bike for Peace project, solidarity was there to prepare furniture, bicycles, tools and machines to set sail. The day ended in Rock with Simon Clerc concert!

In a good mood and sharing, the volunteers and friends of Urumuri are preparing the 80 bikes that will be sent to Rwanda as part of the training project for young people in the trades around the bike!

Jaques, bicycle and car mechanic, came to show the team how to prepare the bikes. We remove the pedals, the front wheel, turn the handlebars and attach it all to the frame! All that remains is to bring it to the container!

THE PROJECT

Ride for the Future Bike for Peace

Ride for the Future – Bike for Peace is a training project for young people in jobs around cyclingand bicycle in Rwanda.

In 2023, twelve young people will follow a one-year apprenticeship in four sectors of activity, namely: carpentry, mechanics, welding and administration.
